CREATIVE FLOW [rituals for stepping in & out] on 17 February 2020
What are the little things that you can do to connect to your own creative process? To step into it and then step out of it? How to come back to creative work after longer breaks without fear and unnecessary judgement?
Starting something can be overwhelming. Sometimes the simple fact of approaching a new, blank page can seem impossible. Writing your first words on an empty page, painting the first line on a canvas, making the first move in a brand-new choreography is both exciting and scary. We can ease up this process with the support of simple rituals that prepare us for an encounter with the arts.
How do you step into that space of flow, where new things can emerge? How do you prepare yourself for something new? How do you even know what you need or when you are ready to start? What are the little practices you can cultivate to step in and out of your creative process? And how can you find trust in the fact that your piece, your project or your artwork will keep working inside of you, even when you don’t stand in front of it? It is with you wherever you go… So when you return, what simple practices can help you reconnect and answer the creative call of your work?
Are you ready to begin your journey? We look forward to working with you!
